What are the creationist’s viewpoint of the earth before the flood?

I watched a program on TBN in my area earlier tonight about what the creationists think the earth was like before the flood. All the theories they presented were things I’ve never heard of before. They didn’t go into details of why they thought that way either. If I understood it right, then this is what they claimed. First off, is that the K-T boundary between the Cretaceous and Tertiary Period of 65 million years ago was only a thousand years ago or so and that it was laid down by a worldwide flood (Noah’s flood) rather than by an asteroid impact. Second was that the earth was smaller in diameter before the flood which caused a higher gravitational pull. This higher gravity caused the atmosphere to be denser close to the ground and therefore caused the atmosphere to be thinner. This increase in density also caused the oxygen to be much more abundant at ground level which is what allowed some dinosaur species, namely the sauropods to grow so huge. Thirdly, they said that dinosaurs lungs were very small compared to other animals of some kind and that under today’s atmosphere and gravity levels their lungs would collapse in adulthood. Lastly, somehow the great flood caused the earth’s density to decrease, the earth itself to thus expand, the atmosphere to expand and the oxygen levels near the earth’s surface to reduce down to modern levels. Personally, I believe the announcer is just misinformed about evolution, geology, astronomy, biology and physics, but that’s just my opinion. Anyway, what I really want to know is if anyone else has heard anything similar and if so then, give me the details and evidence behind such theories since he didn’t give much of anything to support his concepts on the program. Thank you in advance.

  6. Try to view Pastor Arnold Murray. He explains this in full detail on most of his programs. You will understand when he speaks about it. He will point out to you that there were 3 earth ages where all of this happened. And that the flood of Noah was not the catastrophic flood. You can write to him and he will answer questions after his 30 min teaching. He teaches the bible word for word and verse by verse. I have already had 20 years of teachings in 5 months time just listening to him. It would be good for you to get a reference bible or a Strong’s concordance.

  7. Many Christians like myself have no problem with a big bang, or God working in an evolutionary process. Day is used figuratively for a period of time in many scriptures, and the day/age theory of the creation believes there can be millions to billions of years between the days.

    The order for the creation parallels the same order science gives. First comes the heavens (stars, etc.), then an empty earth without form, then land followed by oceans, then plant life followed by the first intelligent life in the sea, then comes birds (which according to science are descendants of dinosaurs), then mammals, then a more specific wild animal, and finally man. It’s actually amazing that it gives an order 3,000 plus years before science confirms that same order.

    Adam is not created until after the seventh day, and the day/age theory believes the man created on the sixth day is not the same as Adam who is first mentioned after the seventh day. That allows for cave men, and explains where Adam and Eve’s children found wives, since there were people before them.

    As far as intellegent design, when some Christians latch onto a world that is 6,000 years old, the thought of “not intelligent” comes to my mind. They need to be convinced that science is not the enemy, that science actually corroborates the biblical order. Likewise, non-religionists need to explain how Genesis came up with the same order as science, considering how that might relate to intelligent design.

    EDIT

    The stuff you heard no the Christian station is creation science nonsense from people who make up science.

  8. I have heard such things, too, and it´s about as crazy as `Canopy theory´.

    There is absolutely no evidence for any of it. They are simply insane cretins who have long since lost all contact with reality.

  9. I cannopt speak for others, but from a BIBLICAL perspective I want to answer your question.

    God divided the waters ABOVE the earth from the waters BELOW the earth. Genesis 1:6-8

    This means that the earth was covered by a shield of water up above in the atmosphere. Furthermore it allowed for even distribution of the sunlight making the earth a tropical paradise.
    The Bible said that there was a mist that came up from the ground… This =NO RAIN… Genesis 2:5, 6

    The seas are gathered into one place meaning that the earth was ONE mass (Genesis 1:9)
    Next there is the fact theat when the flood hit, there were waters coming up from BOTTOM of the ocean breaking the land apart. (Genesis 7:11)

    This means that before the flood the earth was a paradise and of ONE mass. The Bible says that the earth breaks apart because of the flood, and the earth divides Genesis 10:25.

    How would the Bible know about the earth being one mass and being divided without knowledge of traveling across the seas???

    I thought people thought it was flat?

    No it said all this for us to read but we ignore it.

    Just an explanation from the Bible. I hope this helps.

  10. I saw something simular, but as to the bible, allow Gen.1:1,2, to be time not given, Job 38:4-7,30-32, is also time not given, angels are first and see, Gen.3:1-25, for sure, then man/Adam, Gen.1:26, in image of God and Christ, as Jesus was with God before the world was, John 17:3,5,24, the first being God created [ An argument for most religions, with the bible only, Rev.1:1-3,5; 3:14 ]. Year 130, Cain kills Abel, Seth is born in Adam’s image and likeness. So day six ends.
    Gen.2:2,4; All days will be one day when God’s day seven end, God rest from creating.
    Offsprings of Adam die, 1Cor.15:22-28, and will have to be made alive, Psm.104:29,30; God tell how it is done, the life sustaining earth ends with the flood and man’s life becomes shorter and shorter, Gen.6:3; Psm.90:10. John 3:16; 17:3, it is all covered, Rev.21:1-5, the new heavens and new earth is covered, SO HOW LONG TO END OF MAN DYING?
    Heb.2:9,14;
    1Cor.15:26;
    Rev.20: 1-6, when Jesus reigns 1000 years with his first resurrected as priest of God and Christ [ after Satan was 6130 years after Eden ], to Satan in the pit 1000 years, the resurrection goes back 6000 years to Abel, who died year 130, Gen.4:25, 5:3; after 1000 years, Rev.20:7-10, no more Satan or any like him [ he was before God's day one, 49,000 years ago, all angels were [ Job 2:1-6 year 2370 ], now day seven ends ], the saints as holy ones are on the breadth of the earth, joined by those coming down from God out of heaven [ another argument for religions with the bible, only ], Rev.21:1-5, all is made new, God’s rest from creating all of day seven has ended, all is new, 2Pet.3:13; Isa.65:17,25; Rev.2:7; as promised, God is with his heavenly and earthly family, Rev.21:8; earth is cleansed, the kingdom of the heavens [ new heavenly Jerusalem ], has all in God’s kingdom forever.

    Bible.
