  1. What I have done is place foil or plastic wrap over the ice cubes this way i dont get that icky taste. Also open up a box of Baking soda and place one in ur fridge and one in ur freezer opened of course. Replace it every 2 months

  2. I would recommend baking soda. If you go to Wal-Mart or the grocery store, you can get fridge packs of baking soda that open on the sides and allow the baking soda to absorb food odors. This is a time-proven trick that will save your ice.

  4. some stores have those ice trays that are covered, with a top on them and you just put water in, set the level, and when you open them they are more protected from dirty air getting on the ice. otherwise rinse the cubes well first.

  5. Baking soda is a good solution if you change it regularly. You can also buy activated charcoal, loose or in prepackaged refrigerator filters that will really do the job. They are more expensive than baking soda, but they last longer and work even better. I’v seen them at Lowes and Home Depot. You might also try Bed, Bath and Beyond.

  6. MY FIRST QUESTION TO YOU IS YOUR REFRIGERATOR SELF DEFROSTING? IF NOT OR IF SO THE FIRST THING I WOULD BEFORE ANYTHING ELSE WOULD BE TO DEFROST MY REFRIGERATOR WASH AND CLEAN IT WITH SOAP AND WATER ADDING SOME VINEGAR AS VINEGAR IS A NEUTRALLIZER AND WILL HELP TO GIVE A FRESH CLEAN SMELL THEN I WOULD GET A SMALL PLASTIC CONTAINER AND PUT BAKING SODA IN IT. AS BAKING SODA ABSORBS SMELSS OR ORDORS I BELIEVE YOU WILL FIND THIS TO YOUR SATISFACTIUON AND TASTE…

  10. What you can do is put in a half-cutted lemon into the freezer. A lot of times, different cultures try putting meat in a separate freezer and the other stuff in one. Because meat causing more smell, this is often done…

  18. Let the ice cubes freeze alone in the freezer because the smell and taste of the other food affects the ice.

    you might try getting the larger ziplock bags and sealing the ice trays or whatever you have seperately. or using them to seal the food better. either way

    When the ice forms it tend to traps odours and smells within the formation. Thus there are several options;

    1) Keep the ice somewhere without a strong odour like meat or produce.
    2)Baking soda helps absord odours within a confined space and will reduce the odour
    3)Buy a fridge that has odour reduction technology or cycling air capability
    4) Clean your fridge often so odour do not linger
    5) Keep the ice wrapped up or in a confined space.
