I have hyperthyroidism and am trying to find out the foods I can and cannot eat. Also if there might be a natural cure instead of surgury.
I hope someone has some answers thanks.

I believe you could be flirting with disaster. The thyroid pill will not hurt you. I think grapefruit may not be good to eat right at the same time you take the pill, but that might be wrong. Of all the pills you could have to take this one far outweighs any damage it could cause. Thyroid pills keep people alive who are perfectly healthy in all other ways. I think you should talk to your doctor, sometimes you just have to swallow the pill. Be grateful to live in this day and age.
Untreated thyroid condition could lead to Graves disease, if leaves one with bulging eyes as only one of the symptoms. I have seen this and it is a bit creepy. I am not sure if it ever goes away either.
Your doc can tell you more, but I believe you could die trying holistic approaches to this. Just remember someone did a lot of work to find the cure. Take advantage of it and feel lucky.
Be careful about Accupuncture, I have read no evidence this will help. You mention that you want a natural cure..Nature created a wonderful group of people that are smart enough to find cures, use them. Chiropractors and Accpuncture have their places but they do not cure thyroid problems.

Acupuncture can help treat your hyperthyroidism. You may also want to purchase a diode chain to wear around your neck. There is a master acupuncturist in Newton, MA named Kiiko Matsumoto, and you can buy the chain from her website. You would wear the chain as a necklace. You can also call her clinic and send email to get more information. I posted the link to the website where you can find info on the diode chain. Any acupuncturist in your area should be able to help you, but the diode chain would be an added bonus. Hope this helps!
First off let me say that there is no single cure for hyperthyroidism in traditional or western medicine. They can both treat the condition, however if cruellaramzee wanted to take prescription medications then the question wouldn’t be posted in the “Alternative Medicine” section. Now, prescription drugs have at best a 200 year history, whereas acupuncture has been refined for over 2000 years. All prescription drugs are metabolized by the liver, and the damaging effects of these drugs on the body are not yet fully understood. Here is some reference information for those who have “read no evidence” that acupuncture will help. It’s too bad so many people are closed minded to the effectiveness of acupuncture.

You may want to give hypnotherapy a try. It can be very effective for this.
