I have a dog. If I get a cat, will the dog chase it around? If so, what could I do to stop it?

If you have a puppy get a kitten, and get it soon. Pets have an easier time getting along when they grow up with each other. I would start by introducing them slowly together. For instance keep them in different parts of the house and introduce them to each other small bits at a time, when you are there. They should do fine, puppy’s and kittens are naturally playfull, and will probably see each other as playmates. Most likely if you get them together when they are both young, they won’t have time to realize they are supposed to hate each other. I have a cat and a dog as well, and they get along very well, they torment each other like siblings, but I often come home to find them curled up together.

Well its a myth that cats and dogs don’t get along I think because I always had both and I never had any problems.

  3. I HAVE A 4 YEAR OLD TENDERFEILD TERRIER IS SO SPOILED, I RBOUGHT A KITTEN HOME AND FOR 2 DAYS SHE WAS REALLY HURT AND FOLLOWED IT AROUND WE WORRIED BUT AFTER 2 DAYS SHE STARTED LAYING BESIDE IT, THEN WASHED IT. NOW THEY ARE ALLWAYS TOGETHER SIDE BY SIDE AND PLAY ALL THE TIME. THE CATS BOUGHT BACK SOME LIFE TO MY DOG. THEY EVEN SLEEP ON OUR BED TOGETHER. JUST INTRODUCE SLOWLY AND MAKE A FUSS OF YOUR DOG ALL THE TIME. GOOD LUK I KNOW U WILL ENJOY THEM BOTH AS WE DO.

  4. I think it depends… I have 2 dogs and a cat, and the dogs like ot team up on the cat sometimes, but other times the dogs will cuddle with her and just be the sweetest things.. I have never seen the dogs catch the cat, although they have cornered her, but she has claws, so she scared ‘em away…. lol

I think it really depends on the dog and cat. If the dog is a puppy and the cat a kitten, its a lot easier and better. Be careful though because I introduced my kitten and puppy and my puppy was all excited, but my cat was very upset. They couldn’t ever be around each other. But I my cat was an orphan and was abandoned, sad I know… and she might have had bad experience with dogs…so I don’t know, just let your pets take it easy and get used to each other and hopefully they will become great companions! You never know the dog might be afraid of the cat instead of the other way around. That’s how it was between my cat and dog! :) Good Luck!!
