it is the tip of the spear in legislating conscience -
the laws are meant to protect ourselves from “others” including, but not limited to, the little devil that sits on your shoulder that tells you to go out and hammer prostitutes -
provided our behaviours do not affect others negatively we are within the legal boundaries most of the time -
therefore, i say, men are not equal, the right not to be harmed by other’s actions is universal -
where the law goes too far pertains to the things we do to ourselves == smoking buda, doctor assisted suicide, etc.

As a friend of mine used to say, we are equal twice in our lives: At the moment of birth and at the moment of death. Nothing is ever equal about the things in between.
