The US is a melting pot so the cuisine is varied. I guess if you want to go the all-american route you can order a hamburger and apple pie at any local diner. Having grown up in Georgia I highly recommend Waffle House for a high dose of grease and good coffee.

in san francisco, they have an electrified variety of cuisine from all over the world..pho, thai, asian fusion you name it. either south of market,to japantown over to north beach and somewhere in the downtown district and way over there in fisherman’s wharf
