You know, in society in general? I’m like an animal that can sense an earthquake. There’s something going on and it isn’t good. You better prepare people. I used to laugh at those survivalist types with underground bunkers stocked with food and ammunition. They don’t look so funny now. You dig man? It’s coming. I haven’t turned psycho or anything, but there’s something in the air. Kind of like the calm before the storm. Stay close to me. I may be your only hope in surviving this…whatever it is.
Some(not all) seem to think your morally better and superior than someone who’s not like you. Why do also think someone who does serve same food diet as you does not love animal or save them. I don’t mean offense but your not really saving animals by your practice. Your just not choosing to eat a renewable animal source like cow which wont exist if we did not use them. I never seen any vegan group (like peta i researched them a lot) donating millions of dollars, work hard to protect acres of land for wild life habitats and preserving wilderness areas from development. While hunting and other conservation groups like “Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation” protected and enhanced over 4.8 million acres of habitat and ensured public access to more than 480,000 acres . RMEF is especially keen to restore long-absent animal populations, with herds being reestablished in Kentucky, North Carolina, Ontario, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.(http://www.rmef.org/) By some of your logic these groups hate animals.
by the way i am a conservations and a park ranger and devoted my life protecting wild-life and upholding environmental laws. I also have a lot for my job to kill invasions species and animal that are destroyed because someone chooses to feed them. (Nicole usually species don’t eat there own kind unless there starvation or some social purpose which is true for humans also. I’m sure must of heard about people eating each other during plane crash or of tribes that use to practice cannibalism. Some answer don’t even have do with question so why do even answer and preach why you picked diet and prove my question right,

My friend said it’s keeping an animal in captivity in a cage and it’s wrong.
He was telling me that I’m its jail warden.
I said that it’s keeping my turtle safe and fed.
What am I to think?
He told me to set it off free and that it has natural instincts.
From what I’ve read/heard, a domesticated turtle can’t be set free because it doesn’t have the same survival skills of a wild turtle.
What should I do?
My turtle is a red-eared slider. I keep him in a container of water. I would really let him live on a pond, if it was possible.
I got him from those illegal sellers in Chinatown when I was 12.. I didn’t know back then that it was illegal and wrong. I’ve kept him for about 6 years now.
Now my friend is saying that I should set him free because it’s sick that I keep him. He said that if I bring my turtle with me to his place, he would set it free on the creek.
I just feel horrible and the way he said things, I’m pretty much feeling guilty.
He’s the only person who would make me feel bad…..
I hope that I phrase this right. If a person has a dog, and that dog is suffering, the dog can no longer get up and walk around, it can no longer hold food down so it has to be fed through a tube, and there is no hope for the dog to recover, the dog is euthanized, because it is cruel to make him keep living that way, right? (Now, I do agree there.)
BUT
A human becomes injured. They can no longer walk or move any part of their body (let’s assume they can talk) and they have to be fed intraveneously because they cannot swallow properly. All they can do is lie in a hospital bed, waiting for the staff to change them after they soil themself because they no longer have control, and there is no hope of even slight recovery. THAT person (assuming no brain damage, assuming they have their full mental capacity) is miserable, says that they want to die, and yet they are told they cannot, they will be forced to keep living.
Isn’t that cruelty? The person is deciding for himself.
For those of you that don’t check your facts before answering, it is not legal in every state in the US.
I’d really love another pet, but my Shih-Tzu is extremely jealous, so I’d like an animal that doesn’t really need a lot of affection in order to be happy, yet likes it when I do give it affection, & is easy to take care of, & clean up after, & the food is cheap…any ideas?….
P.S. I’m not interested in fish…I’m only interested in pets I can hold.
