My baby is turning one this month and I have to send out the invitations soon. BUT my husband and I can not agree on where to have the event. I wanted to have it at my sister’s house because she has a nice big house in the suburbs. She always entertains so she has everything that we would need. Plus she has a “man cave”(poker table, pool table, flat screen etc.) in her basement to keep the guys from getting all mopey about the social gathering. My husband says that he doesn’t want to feel like a guest at his own daughters b-day party. I understand where he is coming from, but I don’t want to have her party at our crappy apartment in the city. We don’t have enough space, or air conditioning.
We already thought about a park or forest preserve, and have decided that it is too labor intensive bringing all the food, tables, chairs, grill, and all that. And Chuckie Cheese is really not our style. I need help I need to send out the invitations soon! Does anyone have a suggestions?
I am the father of three girls age 24,17,14 who will be visting me for the afternoon on Dec 23rd…I live in a very small apartment, so space is and issue…We could go out also….They are all active, fit young ladies. I do not see them often and love them dearly. How can I make the time I spend with them fun, exciting and memorable? Food ideas, activities ? Thanx!

My cat will not stay of my countertops or table. I think its gross because that is where food goes, not animals. I have tried the water bottle trick; all he is learned is to avoid getting caught and run from me when I come into the kitchen to spray him. I have read about putting double-sided tape on the countertops, but then won’t it be miserable and gross for the humans that have to work on the counter? Also, I live in an apartment and I can’t go destroying the couner with double-sided tape. Are there any other suggestions?? Serious answers only, please.
