Sid Lacombe, a member of the Canadian Peace Alliance, told CTV Newsnet he expected demonstrations to take place across Canada, but pledged they would be peaceful.
“Well, there are demonstrations and rallies planned across the world and our country, in 36 different cities and towns to protest yet again, on the third anniversary of the illegal invasion of Iraq,” Lacombe said. “There will be different sorts of actions, demonstrations, teachings, that type of thing across the world.”
The CPA has taken part in demonstrations on the previous two anniversaries of the invasion, but the situation is more dire now than ever before, Lacombe said.
“Quite clearly, we see there is no end to the violence in Iraq,” Lacombe said. “We also see that it is in fact the occupation itself that is causing an awful lot of the problems that are there. The occupation forces and the violence that they have brought upon Iraq is a significant reason as to why the violence continues.”

He is promoting drilling and establishing new refineries, but fails to note they will be in an Alaskan wildlife preserve. As an energy alternative,nuclear power versus wind or solar. And now states farmers should be growing power, so we don’t purchase from abroad- nevermind the fact that food prices are going up. We can survive without gas- not food. Anyone else find this disgusting?
I live in Chicago. Very aware of the cold and unfortunately I use water radiator heaters so I’m used a little more cold than most. And I work outside. It’s called solar power, radiant heat flooring, and wood pellet stoves.
Ok so I forgot to mention wind power. It is a valuable supplement to solar energy during the winter. the wood stove pellets are generally made from lumber industry byproduct-sawdust. its recycling. and radiant heat can be powered by solar and wind energy, its basically circulating water and could be tied in to a tankless water heater that utilizes solar and wind power.

You will see that scientists concerned about nuclear weapons and global warming have moved the hands of the “Doomsday Clock” ahead by two minutes, symbolizing that human beings are getting closer to reaching the end of our existence. The article makes it a point to say that we are closer to having nuclear bombs used “locally” than ever before because of the threat of terrorism (which I think there is simply no real evidence for). We all know that Bush is pulling just about every string he can to get as many people to continue backing his war plans and troops buildup in the Middle East. Is this pushing the Doomsday Clock ahead yet another one of the tricks Bush and his supporters in Washington are using to scare the American public into more support for the war in Iraq (not to be confused with the “war” against terrorism)?
