On January 27, 2006, I took my girlfriend to the “The Top of the World Restaurant” at the Stratosphere Tower in Las Vegas. When we sat down, we ordered the “World Famous Chateaubriand for Two.” I asked her to marry me between the main course and the Chocolate Stratosphere Tower that we split for desert. Much to my surprise and delight, she said yes.
After dinner we decided to go upstairs to the observation deck and take some photographs and wonder around a bit. Within about a half hour of finishing dinner we both realized that Taco Bell would have been a much better choice for dinner. The food poisoning lasted for the remainder of that evening and most of the next day. So the highlight of the evening was when she said “yes,” and it went downhill from there.
I certainly can’t recommend the Stratosphere Tower for anything but the view, but we are getting married in April and I can hardly wait.
Has anyone else experienced the “Tower” like we did?

There are several different types of food poisoning, some take 6-8 hours to present symptoms, some take 2-3 days. What my fiancé and I experienced was, fortunately, a rather mild form of poisoning, with symptoms that set in within 30 minutes and lasted for about a day and a half.
