What are the 3 most important discoveries/inventions?

I was wondering if there is a general consensus world wide about which inventions and or discoveries have had the MOST favorable impact on human life from it’s start (I don’t care what you believe as far as evolution -vs- creationism) to the present day. Looking at all aspects, here are my choices, in chronological order. 1. Fire, the ability to make at will and control. I think this opened up countless options for humans, from cooking food to seeing at night, defense against animals, etc. 2. Alphabet/writing. All the knowledge gained by the previous generation would be useless without a way to pass on and preserve long term. Not just English but all writing forms (cuneiform,hieroglyphics,Cryillic) If you are reading this now give thanks to the Phoenicians. 3. Electricity. Honestly, just how f**ked would the entire world be without it, from what you are doing on the computer now to heating your house. I know I left out a lot, but I was going after the most far ranging choices. What do you think?

What are your top 5 favorite boxers of all time?

I’m just curious to see the people’s choices ^_^. Leave a reason as to why he/she is your favorite boxer if you want. Please no Gayweather this or Manny Crackman that…don’t bash on other people’s choices please.

For me it’s this and in no particular order:

1.) Wilfredo Gomez ~ Gomez was one of those fighters that could knock you out with either hand. He is one of the boxers that displayed what i think boxing is about which in my opinion is a fight for survival and to kill the opponent in the ring. He made me proud to have the same blood as him flowing through my veins.

2.) Julio Cesar Chavez ~ Chavez was a Mexican warrior that wore you down by destroying your body.. i loved his style of fighting.

3.) Floyd Mayweather ~ People always say that Floyd ducks people or that he never face anyone good and i don’t know if thats necessarily true but i give respect when respect is due. He has one of the best defense i’ve seen and he’s proven that before. Like i mentioned above in my first 2 picks i love the swarming style of Chavez and Gomez but defense is just as important as punching power.

4.) Salvador Sanchez ~ Sanchez was one of those fighters who had everything. He had the skills to out box you, he had a hell of a good chin, and he hit hard. I personally think if he hadn’t of died early that he could of faced Chavez and beat him.

5.) Manny Pacquiao ~ Hes an amazing boxer and i could list SHIT loads of things i like about him but that would take forever. My favorite thing about him is that he came from having nothing to becoming one of the best boxers in the world.

What is a magnesium flint striker and how do you use it?

I was on couldyousurvivethis.com, a website based off of the Cartoon Network show “Survive This” part of CN Real. There was a game that tested your survival skills by placing you in a forest, lost away from your group and asks you questions about survival. One of the questions was about your stock of fire-making tools, and it gave you three choices of which tool to take, either matches, a lighter, or a magnesium flint striker. The magnesium flint striker was the correct choice. It even says you could use the magnesium shavings as tinder. So what exactly is it, and how does it work? Thank you.

College Poll – Out of the choices provided, who would you choose to..?

This is a poll for my college class. Its very short, but I need 50+ people to answer. I know i won’t get that many here, but any amount helps because I’m working 2 shifts tomorrow AND have to study for my finals.. so I won’t have the time to go out.

If you don’t want to answer — please vote on an answer you would have chosen and I’ll just Tally em up.

Based on the information below, which person would you want help from?

Q: You are stranded in the Amazon. While walking thru the dense jungle, you come across a stranger. They offer you help, which you gladly accept. Out of the choices below, who would you accept help from?

A. A convicted murderer/bank robber.

Pro: They have a map, water and knowledge of the area. They offer to guide you back to the ranger station.
Con: You notice this person eying your valuables, you saw a WANTED poster back at the ranger station. The WANTED poster read: “Do not approach this subject. Armed and very dangerous”

B. A native

Pro: Knowledge of the area and survival skills.
Cons: You can not understand their language. You are unsure if this person is friendly or not. they are pointing a very large spear at your throat.

C. A person with a severe Bi-Polar disorder

Pro: Has supplies with them (water, food, first aid kit).
Con: This person is without their medicine. They have become very unstable and are becoming increasingly violent and suicidal. This person is carrying a knife.

Just put your answer, A, B, or C. If you’d like to include a reason, as to why you picked that person, that would be a big help. Plus, i’m a little curious. lol
