What would you and your family do if there was no more gas?

With oil prices on the rise and no end in site and more and more oil fields drying up or not putting out as much oil as before it is easy to see that gas could soon be something available for only the very rich.if gas became so expensive in the near future that it became unaffordible would your family be able to make it ?what kind of changes would you have to make?Do you own land and would you and your husband know how to farm and hunt on it, what if you live in a city? How would this affect your children as far as school? What about babies would you know how to deal with no dispossible diapers or formula?would kind of changes would you have to make as far as electricity goes as this would surely become even more expensive as well, would you be willing to give up computer,internet,t.v.,video games?how would you travel horses or boats and do you think there would be enough horses for everyone if we suddenly couldn’t move our cars?Do you know how to preserve food or make clothes?
what about the enviroment how do you think this would effect it ?Do you
think in the end we would be better or worse off if this happened?

How do people survive, if there is a complete breakdown of our society?

Let say you can’t go to a supermarket. A restaurant. No running water. No electricity. Lets say, due to either terrorism, war, or an asteroid impact or some other natural disaster.

Can I claim this loss on my income tax?

We had to evacuate for hurricane rita. You are suppose to turn the electricity off before you leave. So we did…we were gone for 3 days and all the food in the fridge and deep freeze was lost. I figure the value at around $300. I put this down when I e-filed my return. If it is not acceptable will it slow down my refund?

Kids from Sudan, would they be shocked, awed or appalled at the food waste here?

I seen a news blurb a short time ago about the travels of some boys who were part of a group that escaped the Darfur region of the Sudan. Never say running water, electricity, finished floors etc personally. Never knew when their next meal would come and often went days between meals. They came here via a relief agancy. Here they will exp. things. When they see how much food is wasted at weddings, BBQ, parties and other gatherings, seeing nearly whole platters or bowls of food, thrown away because not much was ate and people were too lazy to wrap it up and preserve it for later or someone who could use it. What would they think? And to go to a buffet? To see the fat parents waddling their equally fat plump kids to the food trough where they stack their plate high with food again and again. To see people here waste what to them in their nation would mean the difference from surviving one more day or digging another grave. Would they be shocked, awed, or appalled?

The electricity has gone across the world, the value of money has significantly decreased, what now?

Are you able to survive? Do you have the survival skills it takes to live without bargain stores, shopping malls, washers and dryers?

Can you make your own clothing?
Crochet your own blanket?
Can you start a fire without a lighter? (you can’t buy them anymore.)
Can you cook over a fire instead of a microwave?
Do you even know how to plant a tomato?

Can you sustain yourself without depending on the “big man”?
Or will you die with the other 70% of the population within the next three months?
