Hi! I am writing this email at 4.45 am which shows my complete desperation. Long story short, my daughter, now 16 months old, was a colic baby, then with 3 months all was well with the world, although she was very often sick. She went to bed well though following bath, meal and book then a song. When she was 12 months old she got really sick and since then we have been dealing with her wakings.
She wakes always screeching and sitting her bed dazed and confused about an hour and a half into bed time. I have researched and seems to be night terrors (no calming her for about 10 minutes.) So then she also got a bottle as in the beginning we has no idea what all of this was about. When she got teeth or a growth spurt she also wanted milk a few hours later. So last week she had her adenoids removed, and tubed inserted in her ears. After 5 nights and days of no sleep i reached for Benadryl. My Dr. gave the okay on that and everyone was happy for four nights – and she slept through for the first time on MONTHS!!!!! But last night she woke up once. And tonight 3 times. Tonight she drank 3ounces (2 hours after bed), 4ounces (5 hours after bed)and now 8ounces(10 hours after bed). I fear some horrible cycle is beginning. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE help. I am at my wits end.
I should also say we want to go home to the States in a month but if this sleeping thing does not get better I think I need to cancel as I can not do this on my own every night.
