Should Trans Fat be banned?

Now, before you come to an answer listen to what I have to say Before you complain about freedom to decide and rights.

Trans Fat comes from Partially hydrogenated Oil. It is used as a preservative, the alternative to this is just as cheap and there will be no change in flavor. Trans Fat lowers good cholestorol, raises bad cholestorol and causes heart disease. Restaurants and supermarket bakeries and such all use partially hydrogenated oil usually to preserve food, don’t you think this is ridiculous since the alternative is so much healthier and just as cheap? Many misconceptions are that it makes you fat, it is extremely unhealthy. If it is banned the alternative provides healthier food and the flavor is virtually the same! Don’t you think they should be banned?
