Do Buffets Have Good Food Quality?

I have a question regarding buffets. You see, I feel that the quality of food that you get at a buffet is nothing like that of what you would get at a restaurant. After all, how could a buffet make a profit if they served top quality food when people throw out half of their plates just because they are bored of what they are eating, and want to eat something else. Also, on top of that, buffets are generally very cheap. Then when I tell someone that the quality of the food isn’t good, they say. “What do you mean, the food tastes great. It is very good quality.” I always think that it is the way they preserve the food and the way they prepare it by doing something to it, maybe adding salt or something, that makes the food taste decent, but the quality is really awful. Am I wrong? And if so, how do they make all of this food for such a cheap price?
Also, if you have any links to prove that buffets aren’t giving you good quality food, I would highly appreciate it. Thanks everyone!

RE: “If it’s so terrible why do VETS recommend it?”

The vast majority of vets know nothing about nutrition.

Vets don’t get classes on the specific nutritional requirements of different animals. They get classes such as “Small Animal Surgery”, not classes like “Canine Nutrition” or “Feline Nutrition”.

Here are the required classes at a veterinary school:

You’ll see there are virtually no courses specific to a certain species or breed of animals.

Here’s a good article from the “Wall Street Journal”: http://www.4pawsu.com/vet_dogfood.htm
