Me and my friends are doing a survival thing, going out in the woods for two nights to test our survival skills. We need to know the basic survival needs to bring with. We don’t want to go back to the house for anything. We want it to seem like survival. Not a ton of items that are unnecessary.

My 5 month old kitten got out of the house sometime Tuesday evening. I took off Weds to look for her. I searched an area about 1 square mile. Placed flyers in mailboxes and on cars. Placed a flier in the local supermarket that has her picture, also in the local gas station. I live in Ohio and right now the temperature has a high of 80 degrees and we had a brief period of rain last night. The topography is a creek valley so there are some hills and some light woods.
I searched the neighborhoold top to bottom and did my best in the woods, but there is a thick brush. I placed some of her items out on the patio for her to recognize. I’m worried that since she is only 5 months she doesn’t have a strong sense of direction or survival skills. She is still clawed however. I’ve checked with the SPCA and she isn’t there, I also put an ad on craigslist. I’m doing everything, but no luck.
Do you think she can survive? Do you think she has the right skills to find her way home? What could I do to do a better job at finding her.
She always tries to get out, and when she does she stays close by.

The owner of the house moving in and he’s allergic to cats, since my mom cat take my cat for a couple of months, which I’d rather keep him with me anyway, my new roomate and I have agreed the cats inside time can be confined to my room, I have the master bedroom and built a loft for my bed, its 300+s.f. And I can build an enclosure so he can have outside access, (my kitty has no out door survival skills, indoors his whole life)
