I am looking for a good knife to buy for my fiance’s birthday. He’s an aspiring survivalist, and I thought that a good knife would be the ideal gift to start him off right. Preferably, it would be *full-tang, approximately *7-9 inches long, I’d prefer for it to have a *smooth blade, as I’m not too keen on serrated edges for survival situations. *3/16-4/16ths of an inch in width, and a *versatile sheath. Pretty much .. if you’re stranded in the woods with nothing but a knife, what would you like to have? I’ve looked up other answers on the site, but the best knife there that I found was only 4-5 inches long, and I’m not sure that would be adequate. Comments from experienced survivalists would be appreciated!
