New neighbors just purchased the house next door, and to our surprise, they’ve got two large boxers that they seem to have no interest in controlling.
The entire perimeter of our property is fenced, (including driveway,) and the dogs keep coming to fight at the driveway gate. So far, in the short number of weeks that they have been here, the dogs have knocked down a (~200 lb) railroad tie that was part of our landscaping; destroyed a segment of our fence; attempted to charge me on my way to car; and repeatedly instigated trouble with our dogs on our property. Our dogs are border collies, one of which is a senior, and frankly, they do not deserve any more of this vain combat. Additionally, it is disrupting the lives of our family, and it has practically become a recon mission just to carry in groceries.
What is the most economical way to harmlessly /trap/ a marauding animal? Any hunters or survivalists out there?
Before anyone says that I’m cruel, please consider that these dogs are actively endangering the lives of both human beings and innocent dogs on private property.
We are already in the process of negotiating resolution with the neighbors, and sheriff/animal control is a very difficult tool to use in a rural area such as this.
Someone else on the block has already explicitly stated their intent to shoot the animals if it happens on their property again.
I was a little unspecific on the breed. We believe that one of them is a Pit Bull, and the other is a Pit Bull/Boxer mix.
