Best second gun? Shotgun or .22 lr?

I’ve been thinking of putting together a ‘survivalist’ kit lately. Not paranoid, but why not?

Along with learning some essentials (reading a book), keeping some supplies in the house, I was thinking about guns.

I DO have my 9mm for home protection, but I was thinking of getting either a shotgun or .22 lr to stow away just in case.

So my question is to people that know more than myself.

If you were to choose between the two, what would you have besides the home protection hand gun?

A shotgun or a .22?

In particular, I was looking at either a Remington 870 or the Ruger 1022. I’m DEF on a budget.

Opinions?
I realize it’s both are the correct answer.

I was thinking if you had ONE to stick in the back of the closet, more for a survivalist scenario than an urban one. I have the CZ75 for home protection.

I was just looking to putting together a good emergency kit.

Why bother to have an emergency preparedness kit on hand?

With the threat of radiation looming over the heads of Californians, does having any type of an emergency kit really matter? Sound like we’re gonna die anyway. Potassium Iodide Tablets won’t help a person if they don’t know when to use them.

So, would any of you bother to gather supplies in case there’s some type of a disaster on the horizon?
……..or would just just “WING IT” & take things as they come?

What should be included in an Armageddon emergency preparedness kit?

A friend of mine started a SHTF emergency supply kit thread on Facebook. Each day someone generally adds an item or two that should be kept on hand in case a large scale natural disaster puts us in the survival mode. What about Armageddon? What should I stock up on just in case Satan is released from the abyss and Gog and Magog start whoopin’ up on us?

Most “military grade” gun that You can legally buy in California?

If you lived in California and were putting together a survivalist kit in case of a natural disaster/civil war/terrorist attack/invasion by Obama clones (or whatever it is that survivalists prepare for), and you were including a rifle/assault/carbine sized gun, what would be your first choice from the ones that can be legally purchased in California and why would you choose it?
You can’t legally buy the .50 sniper in California. The Governator banned it.
Not Islamic terrorists, the “other” kind.

can you tell me how to make a project on disaster management for class ix?

the topic is preparedness for disasters. and i need to create activities to make people particularly primary children and school workers aware of disaster mitigation. also i need to write a manual of instructions and make kit lists for use by teachers to manage laboratory, classrooms, corridors and school building security, buses etc. and also prepare instructions to deal with any accidents in school or in the bus. please HELP!!! i am in desperate need of it.
