what to do about carpet beetles?

so i was innocently sitting on my bead browsing the interweb when i look over too see a vary small insect crawling across my pillow. so i think to myelf i could just squash it or flush it down the toilet…but then i thought this might be bad so i decided to put the bug in a cup and google to see if i might inquire what kind of bug it was…it looked like a lafy bug so i assumed it was a beetle so i looked…and i found that it was a varied carpet beetle a vary small bug with small antenne and brown and white markings on its back…they lay eggs larvey live a long time and eat things like fabrics and dead skin and preserved foods. my room is messy with lots of cloths on the CARPET (where they like to live and hide)but this one i found on my bed….the cloths are clean my sheets are not…what should i do? >:( i dont know if it layed eggs and i cant see any others around im going to clean my room and wash my sheets….but what now i have to go to sleep and i cant wash my sheets right this min laundrys closed what now?

I’m trying to find this book…?

Okay there was a long time ago that I read a story excerpt on a test or something. And it sounded like an AMAZING book. I wrote down the title and author on a piece of paper, but of course after so long, I’ve lost it.
The book is about this man on a boat. And he is a world renowned hunter. No animal is too tough for him to kill. Well he becomes stranded on an island after going overboard (or shipwrecked, I’m pretty sure he went overboard though). And when he gets to the island, he finds a house. He goes up to the door looking for help from whomever resides there. He meets a man that loves hunting as much as he does. And so they discuss thrill of hunting game and what not. Then, the stranded man realizes that he is becoming the hunted. The owner of the home got bored hunting animals and decided to hunt humans. He sets his visitor loose on the island and tries to hunt him and the stranded man has to use wit, survival, and skill to escape. Basically a story of a hunter becoming the hunted.
Does anyone know the title of this or even the author?

My boyfriend’s cockatiel flew away yesterday. What are its chances of survival or return?

We were taking fireworks outside to put in his car, and his stepdad was bringing more out when she slipped out the door. It was very windy and she tried to turn around to land somewhere near the house, but the wind just blew her farther away and I could see she was a long ways away before I lost sight. (Her dot was gone before it headed for trees, and it’s a fairly flat landscape with shorter trees.) We looked for a long time after she was gone, but it was no use, she’d flown too far. I just want to know what are the chances. I know they have bad homing skills, I know they aren’t good at surviving in the wild. Especially not with all the booms from fireworks, and I think it was supposed to storm last night sometime, and there are a lot of hawks around here, and it’s very very hot out. ((Texas.)) So just give me a blunt answer; is there any chance she’ll come back, and if not, what are her chances of surviving? She was a nice bird, even if she didn’t like me(jealousy), and I don’t like to think of her being killed. ((My boyfriend and his mom both take the stance that birds aren’t meant to have their wings clipped or be kept cooped up in a cage all the time, and she’s only in a cage at night or when they take her to her big outdoor cage. I like birds a lot, and I’m all for that stance except for the heartache of losing the bird. If I ever get one, I’m clipping its wings.))

How can I solve acid reflux?

I’ve had acid reflux for a long time now. I take Zantac and Gavescon every day. I want to ween off of these though, and try some more natural aproaches. I’m drinking pinaple juice, and that seems to be helping. Any opinions out there on alternative medicines for acid reflux? I also have a problem with belching and coughing up food by itself without acid. I don’t know how the belching and undigested food factor in, but there you have it.
