Are dried beans or legumes considered a raw food that would be able to germinate and/or sprout?

I am wondering this because I am trying to adopt a “raw food” lifestyle and can’t seem to figure out where to get raw beans… When I go into health food stores, I never see a label saying that the majority of them are raw like most raw foods are labeled, yet I have seen one bean labeled “raw” only ONCE! I cannot believe that the majority of these stores would only carry ONE type of raw bean (non-heated or roasted). I am assuming they are all just dried… Please help!!!

Do you believe in America?

Majority of the people regardless of age, gender, education, and profession agrees that America is in deep trouble and there are lots of evidence to prove it.

With our national debt at $97.6 Trillion, our social security and medicare will be gone in the near future.

With a “war-president” who believes in doing whatever it takes to get the mission done in Iraq on the “war on terror” and many of Americans are losing faith in politics. A lot of us are losing jobs overseas to cheaper laborers and China and India are expected to be the next superpowers.

The future looks dim for America in preserving it’s global power or is it?

One very important factor that many Americans have forgotten is that most countries copies our ideas. Innovation is what drives our country foward despite our debt. The American music, the fashion, the food, and TV shows are influences the world.

Americans do something and the whole world follows.
Americans does something and the world follows us and not the other way around. This is the reason why America will continue in being the superpower for a very long time.

Surely the majority of Muslims want to live in peace?

I have read some scary statements on this site from Muslims. The one I read a second ago said that they will rise up and that they like the violence etc. I hope that person reads my question because I would like to say to him. Please think again. There are innocent children, the new generation that could grow up in peace and have lives, loves and safety for their own children, enough food on the table and a comfortable place to sleep. How can killing be a better life path than finding a partner, settling down, having a family, friends and at the end of the day look up to the stars and know that no bombs will drop in the night. Please anybody who wants to kill think carefully about what brings more lasting happiness. Creating life or destroying life? Preserving the planet or poisoning it with the fallout of war. Piles of bodies or piles of fresh fruits at the market?

Democrats have decided to return to business as usual – is Washington nuts no matter who is the majority?

Democrats seeking votes for their Iraq-withdrawal plan have stuffed the bill it’s in with billions of dollars for farms, flu preparedness, New Orleans levees, home heating and other causes.

The funding – ranging from $3.5 billion for medical care for veterans and active duty troops to $500 million in “emergency” money for a Western fire season that has yet to start .Farmers would get $4.3 billion in disaster aid, aimed chiefly at the drought-stricken Great Plains and California farmers hurt by a hard freeze earlier this year.

$1 billion to prevent or prepare a possible avian flu epidemic and $400 million in additional heating subsidies for the poor.

Rep. Sam Farr, D-Calif., is pressing for $25 million for spinach farmers who pulled produce from market shelves after last year’s E. coli outbreak.
