Where in Colorado can I live that is about 20-40 away from Denver and REALLY mountainous?or anywhere near mts?

Honestly, it doesn’t have to be Colorado, but Im really looking to relocate somewhere that I can have a scenic view of mountains, rivers, lakes, woods, etc, but at the same time is about 20-40 min outside of the city. Somewhere I can look out at night and see gorgeous star views and where the trees are gorgeously orange, yellow, and green. I know this is a lot, but I really want somewhere I can feel like I’m a survivalist. Alaska, NH, Washington, Colorado, anywhere! Please name a city I can Google. Thank you so much!

What do you believe about the 2012-2015 possibility of a pole shift or a massive impact with an asteroid?

It seems that we might live in historic times…all the planets in The Solar Sistem are warming, not just ours…which means that it’s not because of the human overpupulation that lows resurces and rise the CO2 level. It might be a part of it,but apparently they are changes on all the planets, changes that are believed to have not occured in thousands of years…science may not be so accurate…I believe that the 2012 prediction is mostly based on the Maya calendar, wich finishes…but what about Nasa that tells us about a major planet or asteroid impact…This has happent in the past with our planet…it is logical if you look at it that way…Floods,’raining with fire’-asteroid hits, earthquakes…the planet has it’s own way to escape us:P If you look at it from the Earth’s point of view, many of us are not so friendly, and we should be shaken a little,so the planet can breathe….it is obvious that everytime it has happent someone got out, someone escaped…someone told the story…not to mention that they have preoven it scientifically…but it is possible to name a year as The year? A whole range of countries are building Doomsday Vaults, underground facilities or located in mountains to keep seeds protected in case of a disaster…My question is why now?Why all of them are planned to be finished before 2011?What is happening?

I know you know as little as I do,but maybe we’ll hear some interesting opinions…they said on tv that the safest place to be if it happens is in caves, underground tunnels or plain land…no buildings…away from the oceans..but would we want to survive in a world without art, music, technology,a warm bed…a world were people become hunters again and kill each other?

Just a tought of mine…hope to hear some other interesting points of view..
Thank you.

Pickled Corn Recipe?

Being from the mountains of eastern Kentucky, I grew up eating foods preserved by pickling. If you like pickled bologna, pickles, & sauerkraut, then you will LOVE pickled corn. Here is a recipe that I have tried, and 10 years later, found a jar of pickled corn on the cob, and it was still delicious.

Pickled Corn (on the cob)
Boil corn till barely done, approx 5-8 min, don’t over cook
Let cool, may place in refrigerator, or in ice water.
Use brine mixture: 1/2 cup pickling salt to 3 quarts of water.
Place corn in clean, sterilized canning jars, or you may use a crock. 1/2 gallon jars work well, or empty gallon size pickled bologna jars.
Pour brine solution over the corn, and place in a cool dark place, preferably outside in a storage building or garage. The pickling process takes at least 3 weeks, and the solution will bubble and “work”, and could possibly leak out the top of the jar. Sometimes a film or mold will settle on top of the liquid. Skim it off, rinse the corn, & eat!!

Im wondering if anyone knows where i can live in the wilderness?

I lost my job in 2008 and havent been able to find anything since and i have slowly lost everything.Home.Vehicles.im currently living with family. But i just wanta take 6 months to a year and escape from all the stress of people and society for awhile.I have lots of survival skills and have prepared all my life. i have all the things i need and im ready to go. I just dont know where you can go in todays America with all the NATIONAL protected forest and privately owned land.I used to spend a week or 2 in the mountains for a get away, but society will not let you permanently live there or stay as long as i want and you cant build a permanent shelter. Are there any areas a person can go and get back to the basics of life for awhile? Or does society just want to keep everyone bundled up in stress and hardships until they cant take it anymore and go crazy or just off themselves? Thanks for any help or research information provided.
