What’s a good place to learn survival skills/nature from my father?

My father plans to teach me survival skills, edible plants, etc., and I’m tasked with finding a suitable area for said activities. What’s the best place to go for that? I live on the edge of Sacramento in California, about 30 minutes away from a popular lake recreation area and 45 minutes away from El Dorado National Forest. I’m thinking the forest would be best because there’d be less people there and it would be much more lush. But I’m unsure of the LEGALITY of it; also how we’d actually enter it without stepping onto private property. Any thoughts?

Good information, but I don’t appreciate the insults.

Disaster Preparedness & Recovery Planning for Law Firms

Disaster Preparedness & Recovery Planning for Law Firms

This book offers guidelines on how lawyers and law firms can prepare to minimize the debilitating impact that disasters of all kinds can have on their law practices and the clients they represent. The issue isn’t if a disaster will occur, but rather when a disaster occurs, what should we do in order to recover quickly and effectively. Topics covered include defining “disaster,” then creating a plan that deals with the various types of disasters that might befall us including fire, earthquake, burst water pipes and, yes, even planes crashing into our buildings. This new book also deals with insurance, financial planning, data recovery, and most importantly, personnel (our “human capital”) planning.

Do you think the Vatican Church knows when Doomsday will be approaching?

The Vatican has hidden The Third Prophecy of Fatima (Portugal 1917 AD). In 1984 Pope John Paul 2 said, “The catastrophic nature of the third prophecy is so great that millions of lives will be lost. There is no need to panic the world over such a great loss of life”. The Pope also spoke of “global tidal waves and earthquakes of a terrible magnitude.” All of This Points To Comet Impact, The Coming of The Comet Planet
NASA will be successful in shattering this Comet planet, saving earth from Total Impact and the destruction of all life. Yet, earth will be hit by flaming meteor debris that sets on third of the earth aflame. (Rev:8:8-9). Also a larger chunk (Asteroid) will crash into the Ocean and cause Tidal Waves and severe flooding (exactly as Pope JP2 warned in 1984).

A question for someone familiar with wild animals or hiking or survival skills:?

I live on the edge of a forest and love to take long walks. People always say, “Aren’t you afraid of wild animals,” and mostly I’m not … the little fear I have is overcome by my love of nature. But I really should know what to do if I ever encounter something like a lynx, bear, wolf, or coyote. (They’ve all been seen in my neighborhood.) Do I stay still, make myself look bigger, walk slowly away, different with each animal? Also, although deer don’t generally seem aggressive, a couple of times when I’ve come upon them they’ve done nasty snorts. Would a deer ever attack? I am interested in hearing “book” answers but more interested in hearing actual accounts of how YOU handled such animals on your walks. Thank you.
