I heard that 4.4 people are born ever second from a news article, when are they going to make this stop?
I heard by the end of the year we will have 6 billion people in this world. And in 20 years from now 10 billion, when is someone going to speak up about this issue, its a very serious issue too. China for example and Japan.
Is the pushing forward of the so-called “Doomsday Clock” a political stunt by the Bush Administration?

You will see that scientists concerned about nuclear weapons and global warming have moved the hands of the “Doomsday Clock” ahead by two minutes, symbolizing that human beings are getting closer to reaching the end of our existence. The article makes it a point to say that we are closer to having nuclear bombs used “locally” than ever before because of the threat of terrorism (which I think there is simply no real evidence for). We all know that Bush is pulling just about every string he can to get as many people to continue backing his war plans and troops buildup in the Middle East. Is this pushing the Doomsday Clock ahead yet another one of the tricks Bush and his supporters in Washington are using to scare the American public into more support for the war in Iraq (not to be confused with the “war” against terrorism)?

how long to WW3? (Especially with Bush in charge of the White House)?
I came across a news article the other day showing how scientists have a clock that’s all about how far we are from the end of civilization as we know it. (Did anyone else see that in the news? Anyone got a link? I think it was advanced to two minutes to midnight or something like that.) Whether it be climate change (and the human effects thereof – never mind the human causes), or asteroid impact or Nuclear Armageddon – or even some killer avian flu.
Here we are now with Bush ‘sending messages’ to Iran because he refuses to have diplomatic relations with them. Sure, the middle east is a powder keg just waiting to ignite, but at this rate the U.S. (under Bush’s white house) are gonna wind up being the ones to light the fuse.
