So when ever I look up 2012 I get end of the world stuff but I was wondering about the scientific side of it, a possible pole shift or the idea that the earth would be passing the equator of the galaxy, anyone know anything, please share

What will happen 2012 NOT that Doomsday stuff but scientifically?
What do you believe about the 2012-2015 possibility of a pole shift or a massive impact with an asteroid?
It seems that we might live in historic times…all the planets in The Solar Sistem are warming,not just ours…which means that it’s not because of the human overpupulation that lows resurces and rise the CO2 level.It might be a part of it,but apparently they are changes on all the planets,changes that are believed to have not occured in thousands of years…science may not be so accurate…I believe that the 2012 prediction is mostly based on the Maya calendar,wich finishes…but what about Nasa that tells us about a major planet or asteroid impact…This has happent in the past with our planet…it is logical if you look at it that way…Floods,’raining with fire’-asteroid hits,earthquakes…the planet has it’s own way to escape us:P If you look at it from the Earth’s point of view,many of us are not so friendly,and we should be shaken a little,so the planet can breathe….it is obvious that everytime it has happent someone got out,someone escaped…someone told the story…not to mention that they have preoven it scientifically…but it is possible to name a year as The year? A whole range of countries are building Doomsday Vaults,underground facilities or located in mountains to keep seeds protected in case of a disaster…My question is why now?Why all of them are planned to be finished before 2011?What is happening?
I know you know as little as I do,but maybe we’ll hear some interesting opinions…they said on tv that the safest place to be if it happens is in caves,underground tunnels or plain land…no buildings…away from the oceans..but would we want to survive in a world without art,music,technology,a warm bed…a world were people become hunters again and kill each other?
Just a tought of mine…hope to hear some other interesting points of view..

I recently read all books, 2012 articles, watched all 2012 videos and about the 2012 pole shift at the best rated 2012 website http://www.2012Spam.com and found it to be very informative and intriguing.
I would like to state that the Bible records at least one pole shift in the past and that such an event is not necessarily cataclysmic. I can also tell you from scripture that there will be at least 1 and possibly 2 pole shifts in the near future and what they will entail and when they may occur. I believe there is a clear indication of the occurrence of a pole shift when Jesus was crucified. This event is recorded in the Gospels.
And it was about the sixth hour, and there was a darkness over all the earth until the ninth hour.

What happened here was that while Jesus was on the cross it became dark from noon to 3:00. There is much historical evidence to suggest that this was the result of a pole shift which caused the sun to set at noon. And then at 3:00 the sun came up again. There is also evidence that a world wide earthquake occurred at this time with heaving seas, again indicative of a pole shift. We also know from history that this was not a severe cataclysmic event. .As for the future and a 2012 pole shift; I believe that scripture indicates that during the end times there will be at least one and possibly two pole shifts. The first will be at an event known as the rapture, when the Lord Jesus returns to earth to rescue Christians from the persecution of the antichrist. This is clearly recorded in Revelation 6.
And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;

And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.

And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;

And said to the mountains and rocks, Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:

For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand? (Rev 6:12-17)
I believe that the physical event that is being described here fits the description of what many conjecture will occur at a pole shift. And this seems to be a pretty severe one for it says that every mountain and island will be moved out of their places. An earthquake of this magnitude is sure to do large scale damage. I believe that this event will also most likely occur between 2013 and 2015, for that is when the rapture will most likely take place. The next pole shift is likely to occur at the return of the Lord Jesus Christ to the earth at the battle of Armageddon as described in this passage.
And the seventh angel poured out his vial into the air; and there came a great voice out of the temple of heaven, from the throne, saying, It is done.

This event describes, among other things a horrific worldwide earthquake that levels all the mountains of the world and destroys all the islands. This event is also preceded by horrific changes in the sun. That is the bad news; the good news is that one can escape both of these events by being part of the rapture
.BTW, the woo woo aliens are just demons trying to deceive people into believing the lies of the devil and the coming world ruler, the antichrist, to dam people to Hell.

Whether you believe any of it or not, it certainly is fascinating.

2012 is sometimes claimed to be a great year of spiritual transformation (or apocalypse). Many esoteric sources interpret the completion of the thirteenth B’ak’tun cycle in the Long Count of the Maya calendar (which occurs on December 21 by the most widely held correlation) to mean there will be a major change in world order.
Accordingly, several eclectic authors claim that a major, world-changing event will take place in 2012:
