On a golden eagle preserve the size of the golden eagle population depends upon the size of the population of rodents, the golden eagle’s primary source of food. Suppose that the number of eagles N is given by N=0.004x + 0.008x^2 where x is the number of rodents on the preserve. If the number of rodents available is increasing at the rate of 200 per year, how fast is the golden eagle population increasing when there are 500 rodents on the preserve?

Some three-toed sloths have been introduced ta na uninhabited island preserve. Suppose the population at time t (in years) is modeled by the function P(t)= (60t+204)/(0.04t+3).

Due to the limited space and food, the population of the island will eventually reach its capacity. In the long term, what is the limiting size of the population?
(Hint: Look at the behavior of P as t gets larger and larger)

Is anybody in the U.S.A.that wishes to participate in a national zombie apocalypse drill?

This is a serious threat to national security and I feel we should all be prepared. I am proposing setting up a nation wide drill as to what we should do if zombies begin to over run the population. We can treat all non participants as zombies and if they talk to you you are bitten. We can set up safe houses across the country and start stock piling food now. I feel this should be addressed and soon before the living dead feast on our brains.
not as big of a response as I’d hoped. I will try to set up some sort of forum for discussing this. I will probably add more to this question in a couple days.
