What do you think about the Mayan 2012 end of world prophecy?

As an engineer, I’m naturally skeptical of claims until I see strong supporting evidence. So when I came across this link on the web, my b.s. detectors started working overtime. But, alas, I’m not able to pick out the weakness in the argument on this page. Can it really be coincidence? Is the author tricking the readers some way? I don’t know enough about astronomy to debunk this. Have a look:

Do you think the Vatican Church knows when Doomsday will be approaching?

The Vatican has hidden The Third Prophecy of Fatima (Portugal 1917 AD). In 1984 Pope John Paul 2 said, “The catastrophic nature of the third prophecy is so great that millions of lives will be lost. There is no need to panic the world over such a great loss of life”. The Pope also spoke of “global tidal waves and earthquakes of a terrible magnitude.” All of This Points To Comet Impact, The Coming of The Comet Planet
NASA will be successful in shattering this Comet planet, saving earth from Total Impact and the destruction of all life. Yet, earth will be hit by flaming meteor debris that sets on third of the earth aflame. (Rev:8:8-9). Also a larger chunk (Asteroid) will crash into the Ocean and cause Tidal Waves and severe flooding (exactly as Pope JP2 warned in 1984).

Interesting vision of the 2012 apocalypse, can anyone help me out and explain or share your experiences?

This seems like the strangest thing in the world for me. After reading about the maya 2012 prophecy for the very first time 9 years ago, there has been a strange thought that had come to mind. I don’t know why, but as a major Red Hot Chili Peppers fan, I had somewhat of a strange vision this one time. In this vision, right before the supposed end of the world, I encounter a very strange and frightening coincidence: the song “Fortune Faded” is being played by at least one radio station for every radio transmission zone simultaneously right before a fiery end from above by a comet or asteroid. MTV also plays the Fortune Faded video right before the end. My question is – has anybody else had a similar vision, or is this just a figment of my strange imagination? If so, please tell me about the experience as best you can. And no, I was not on drugs at the time. Please tell me if you imagined the same or a similar song playing right before the Earth’s apocalyptic destruction?
