Where can I learn hand to hand combat that would be usefull in the army?

I am joining the army in 2 months and I would like to learn some hand to hand combat before I go to boot camp. For the past 3 months I have been working on my physical condition by doing push ups, sit ups, and running everyday. But I am worried that I will not be ready when it comes down to hand to hand combat. I do not have enough time to join a judo dojo or anything so what would you recommend. I have brought the The Ultimate guide to U.s Army survival skills and techniques and have been going over their hand to hand combat diagrams but I would like to learn more. What should I do continue with the army guide or go online and buy dvds. Any advice would be appreciated and please give me serious answers!

What do you think of this quote?

“In an age characterized by leisure, most people depend too much on push buttons, time clocks, and other indoor conveniences for their daily survival. Consequently, they do not develop the abilities or skills which could enable them to survive stresses encountered in the wilds. History is full of war-ruined civilizations that have fallen from indoor luxury to outdoor desperation in only a few hours.

“For the Stone Age man, necessity was the mother of invention, and he adapted to her toughest demands. Today, however, the mother of invention is probably leisure — or it can be if man deliberately uses that leisure to seek challenge. If he desires to combine the toughness of his ancestors with his own intellectual prowess in order to become a fully developed man prepared for the worst or the best, he is wise; he learns from yesterday.”
