Dog food company emailed me back, look what I discovered. I need the dog nutritionists down here QUICK!?

So I was concerned that Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul had bought their ocean fish meal they use in their ingredience from a company that preserved it with Ethoxyquin. I had e-mailed the company stating my concern and this is apart of the e-mail I found disapointing…

The preservation systems used by our vendors are all legal, but are considered by them to be proprietary information. However, we know that the heat from our pet food process destroys whatever antioxidants are used in the ingredients that we purchase. After the heat process (extrusion and drying), we apply natural tocopherols (Vitamin E) in order to carry the shelf life of the food. The cooking process at our facilities is at or above 240 degrees. Ethoxyquin in the ingredients is destroyed due to its lack of heat stability. Diamond does not preserve any of its products with ethoxyquin, only with mixed tocopherols.

There is a law that requires fish meal to be preserved with ethoxyquin. The following is a link to that law:

So is it true that the Ethoxyquin is destroyed in the heat?

Quick foods that I can freeze???

Okay, my husband is what I like to call cooking illiterate. He burns almost everything he cooks, one of the simpliest being jello! He can grill meats, cook eggs and spaghetti on the stove and that’s about it. I’ve heard that you can pre-make/cook foods and then freeze them for a later time but I’ve no idea what types of foods/dishes can be frozen and still be good to heat up/cook for later. Just looking for ideas that are quick, easy, and cheap to make.
