Has anyone seen the reissued Star Trek – Original Series with the updated special effects?

I was flipping channels yesterday and came across the Doomsday Machine episode looking like the FX went all 21st century, rather than the cheesier 60s FX. I was astonished! Check it out if you haven’t seen it yet…I wasn’t aware they did this to the original, and WOW does it look better.

Does anyone think that Harry Potter series leads to the Occult?

Some Christians in Our World believe that the Harry Potter Series is going to lead their Children to occult practices. Joining in Wicca groups or other Spiritual groups out there today in Our World. I see and hear things bad mention in the Bible. But No Christians speaks of that. So why don’t they go after their precious bibble and burn that to shreads. Half of it I believe it’s all lies. So what. People would probably judge me and say I should belong in HE double hockey sticks but it’s my opinion and it said in the Bible. That WE THE PEOPLE have free will of choice in every thing we do in our lives so we can look to the furture of our own uniquine paths. I think this Harry Potter Occult thing is all hogwash anyway. These Christians want most of the d share of the money. Also to put a roof on all of our heads and tell us that if we don’t follow all of God and Christ rules we’ll all surely end up in HE double hickey sticks.

How could an asteroid have wiped out life on earth?

So I was reading Wired Science online and came across a series of pictures of asteroid impact craters on earth as seen from space.

They came to the Manicouagan Crater in northern Canada.

http://www.wired.com/wiredscience/2009/08/impactcraters/3/

They say that it may have caused a mass extinction that killed around 60 percent of all species during the Triassic period, that the impact left a 43 mile impact structure and that the meteor itself was about three miles wide. This strikes me as relatively small, compared to Earth.

How could a 3 mile wide asteroid destroy 60% of life on a 7,900 mile wide planet?
