How do I survive the cougars in Red Dead Redemption?

I just recently bought Red Dead Redemption for the Xbox 360 (sleep has been a problem since then) and I am currently working on the Survivalist Journal. My current job is to collect 4 Red Sages from the Rio Bravo area. There’s just one problem: the area is home to cougars as well.

I’m not sure if this is normal, but I always get attacked by two cougars; they never strike alone. They don’t make any noise until they’re right on top of me. One will knock me down and the other will mess up my face, killing me and forcing me to start over.

What I want to know is this: Is there any way to spot them before they’re in my face, and how do I avoid the knock down then kill tactic they use?

Do aquatic turtles eat algae?

My turtle spends alot of time scouring away at the bottom of his tank between the meal schedule that I have for him. The only thing down there (to my knowledge) is algae and that’s for the bottom feeders! Since he’s (suppose to be) hibernating I feed him less so that he can get his sleep, but lately, scavenging has become a big hobby. I dont want to over feed him. I dont know what to conclude from this. Am I not feeding him enough. Is there extra food in the tank that I dont know about? Can someone explain what may be going on to me?

are you concerned about the doomsday clock being moved up?

scientist recently moved the doomsday clock closer to midnight based on concerns of proliferation of nuclear weapons and climate changes. is this something that “really” concerns you? i mean i know some people will bitch about it and want to blame certain segments, but are really going to lose sleep over this?

Anyone know how to make it work?

My husband and I have a 15 month old daughter and another girl scheduled to be delivered in just 12 days. We live in a tiny house, my mother’s house. For two years now we have lived without heat because she refuses to pay for oil, my husband and I pay $300 in rent but also buy food and pay for cable/phone. She does not pay a monthly mortgage. The downstairs is usually very cold and in disrepair – I don’t think of it as safe enough to let her play. Then my husband decided to take on a third shift job, knowing our daughter wakes up at 9 in the morning and that the only safe place for her to play is in our room and hers. We do not own a car and I have no friends that have the time to transport us everywhere so that my husband can sleep. We fight everyday about his sleep and I’ve gotten to the point that I would prefer him to move out but he thinks of it as me not wanting to be with him at all. I simply can’t take the fighting. He works 60 hours/week + has no time to find another job.

Are babies naturally survivialists?

Does anyone else have a ‘survivalist’ baby? Is this how babies are supposed to be? When my son was a newborn we tried having him sleep with something that smelled like me, but he woke in the night whimpering (for the first time, he was 4 weeks old) because he had my scent but not me. As he became mobile he started to scavenge food off the floor (things he had dropped earlier) and eating those before coming to us when he was hungry. He also doesn’t like being in his crib unless he has a sippy of water with him, Once he learned how to open the toilet and that it had water in it I found him ‘drinking’ from the toilet: sticking his hand in, sucking the water off, repeat.

Is my baby the strange one because he tries to ‘fend for himself’ instead of go to us immediately, or is this normal?
Miztery, that was the first time he ever got into the toilet. I promise that the bathroom doors are always kept closed now.
