Could anyone recommend a survivalist book? I find them really interesting and will read a manual style one or narrative style survivalist book. Thanks for any ideas!

In Episode 6 of Docm77´s NEW Minecraft World Tour, we are able to see quite some progress. This time, I mainly focused on “looks” rather than adding new features to the mob systems. In the beginnig, I try to get some more sand and wood by fixing the close surroundings of the Perimeter. After that, we head straight towards the base and take a close look on what I´ve been doing the last few days: Bauhaus Style;-) As usual, we speak about future plans in the end of the episde. Lot´s of things to do, so guys, share your ideas and get busy;-) Important Info: Docm77´s Special Texture Pack with Arnold inside: www.mediafire.com Make sure to use newest MCpatcher to install the pack;-) Important Links: Ethoslab´s video about water in Minecraft: www.youtube.com Static´s cool flower and seed farm (SMERF): www.youtube.com
I’m a college male who is a little on the old side to join something like the boy scouts, however I would still love to learn some of the unique trivia and lesser-known skills of camping (I’m talking about backpacking or survivalist style camping, not car or camp site camping). These skills could be anything from how to create a make-shift shelter, build a fire (and cook on it (maybe even without cookware)), learn how to tie knots and there uses, foraging and hunting food, or anything in between.
So, I’m asking for any recommendations on reading material, websites, or videos as well as any personal advice that you would like to share. (My goal is to eventually get to a “survivalist” style where I need to take only the bare essentials (yes, I know this will take many years to get to).)
Thanks for all your help.

I’m trying to find a website or book that has house plans for farmhouses, but when I google it, all I can find are farmhouse ‘style’ houses for the suburbs. My husband and I need a house that is built for a farm. We need several fireplaces, a large kitchen that I will be able to can and preserve food in, a big mudroom on a convenient entrance… Does anyone know of a website or book that has farmhouse home plans that don’t revolve around modern neighboorhoods and are a good home for a working farm?
