Does anyone know if you can home can Kimchi?

am growing cabbage, and I like kimchi, and I was thinking of home canning it in mason jars, but I can’t find a recipe for that anywhere. All I find is that you make it, and then have to refrigerate it. Has anyone canned kimchi?
To clarify; canning is the process where you pack food into mason jars, and then boil the sealed jars in either a pressure cooker or large pot (if the product is acid or salty) . This preserves the food – you know, like what grandma did! So that’s what I’m wondering about…..

Can I afford to have children?

My wife and i have been married for 8 years and we’ve been thinking of having children. We’re now approaching our mid 30′s so time is not on our side to wait. We live in California so it’s a struggle to survive even with a dual income. In fact we would not be able to afford our house, food, and other bills if my wife wasn’t working. If we have kids I don’t think it’s such a good idea to send them off to day care so my wife can work to pay for the day care and the remainder of our bills. We are not in debt, we don’t have cable or cell phone bills (etc) and my wife just finished with her Master’s degree so we stand to make quite a bit more money in the near future… if she plans to continue working.

How do people do it? Our house is small, our cars are old and I don’t want to work two jobs and not be able to spend time with my child. Do people take out loans to offset the mother’s lack of income? Should I sell my house and move out of state? HELP!

Why the Sociological/Psychological need for doomsday or apocalyptic thinking?

History is littered by unfulfilled predictions of the end of days from both religous (Revelations) and secular (Thomas Malthus) sources. Anyone can give me a good short explanation of this, with references if possible. (Not for homework, but for an ongoing debate with some friends)

Best second gun? Shotgun or .22 lr?

I’ve been thinking of putting together a ‘survivalist’ kit lately. Not paranoid, but why not?

Along with learning some essentials (reading a book), keeping some supplies in the house, I was thinking about guns.

I DO have my 9mm for home protection, but I was thinking of getting either a shotgun or .22 lr to stow away just in case.

So my question is to people that know more than myself.

If you were to choose between the two, what would you have besides the home protection hand gun?

A shotgun or a .22?

In particular, I was looking at either a Remington 870 or the Ruger 1022. I’m DEF on a budget.

Opinions?
I realize it’s both are the correct answer.

I was thinking if you had ONE to stick in the back of the closet, more for a survivalist scenario than an urban one. I have the CZ75 for home protection.

I was just looking to putting together a good emergency kit.

How can I freeze-dry or otherwise preserve my own food?

I’m taking some people with a very fixed diet to another country for two weeks. We need to be able to take our own food with us. How can we do this? I was thinking of finding a vacuum pump and some liquid nitrogen to set up my own freeze-drying system. Any suggestions?
