Network Marketing (MLM or Multi-level marketing) companies have become extremely plentiful in recent years. Almost everything imaginable to purchase can now be found in the network marketing industry where distributors buy and sell products with the chance of earning money by signing others below them to do the same. The early MLM companies such as Amway and Shaklee, which have become unbelievably successful giants in the industry, have been around for decades and are still going strong. Starting out with soap, cleaning supplies, and vitamins, they now sell a wide variety of products. Indeed, Amway distributors may buy almost everything they need through their own home based business.
Tupperware, Avon, and Mary Kay are other companies which use the multi-level concept to make more sales and reward their workers. Dozens of companies selling nutritional drinks and vitamin products have hit the MLM market. The travel industry and long distance use MLM. People in the business can sign up others under them who will also sell the products with a portion of their sales going to the person who was able to get them into the business. The upline has people under them who are called their downline.
The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS or Mormon) has long advised its members to store food for emergencies. The suggested one or two year supply of food was intended to take care of the family in case of a natural disaster or in the eventuality of a family crisis where money might not be readily available to buy food. Food storage has been seen to be a worthy goal for families in these uncertain economic times. Losing one’s income has become all too commonplace in today’s society.
Some people shop for staples in their grocery shopping once a month or once every other month. This is a good idea except for the period when it gets down to shopping day and the supply of food may be depleted. Having a small supply of food on hand is a good thing for everyone in case of emergencies.
This winter there were record snow storms in the Washington, D.C. area and other parts of the United States. People who knew the problems were coming flooded the grocery stores to buy essential items, leaving the stores with little or no reserves of some products. The employee or trucking strikes which sometimes occur cause the grocery store shelves to become empty. Disasters of nature hit unsuspecting areas. These and many other reasons make storing some food a good idea.
A company in Utah which is called Shelf Reliance has entered the network marketing arena. Their consultants give home parties where they share the concept of food storage and provide participants with information, recipes, and samples. The company produces food products which may be stored for up to 25 or 30 years and which may be used daily. They encourage rotation of the food storage through usage and set up programs where people are able to buy the products monthly according to their own budgets. It also allows the consultants to earn money through the network marketing plan down three levels. This is a company which should see great growth and success through which consultants have a chance to win at a home based business.
