Could you survive on a remote island with no provisions do you have survival skills?

I am just wondering all you have the clothes on your pack and a pocket knive? Do you have any survival skills can you make shelter out of trees? Do you know what berries/mushrooms are safe to eat? Can you make a boat or raft? The reason i am asking this is i just watched Ray mears and he is so handy i think he in an ex SAS soldier and his documentaries are very interesting.
Plus ray mears has great shoulder corr is he married?

Do you think Trees that grow 20 feet or more a year could be genetically engineered soon?

could trees like these be used to help reverse global warming by the fact they’d obviously have to consume CO2 very rapidly? Could they could be engineered so they wouldn’t require great deals more water then regular trees. Could they could be used for a natural resource allowing rainforests and other natural forests to be preserved. Could they be easily identified simplely by there level of growth to keep them from overtaking natural species of trees? Could they be used to reforest areas that have been clearcut and to reverse the spread of deserts? Is all this possible? I know that teqniques to add and remove genes have been recently discovered, is this one of the first areas it should be applied to especially since unlike genetically modified food, people don’t eat wood products? Just imagine trees as tall as redwoods in 30 or 40 years where previously there had been none.

The end of the world….?

Ok so its happened before…. our planet is struck regularly by objects crashing down on us from outer space. The best recorded of these events occurred in 1908 when a small asteroid, about 300 feet in diameter, exploded high above the Tunguska River valley in Siberia, producing a brilliant blue fireball that knocked people off their feet 40 miles away, and flattened millions of trees. But my QUESTION IS:- according to research we maybe in the collision course of an asteroid. The newly discovered threat to global civilisation is called 2000 SG344 and they say it MAY hit sometime in September 2028.

1) How many of you actually believe this? I mean there are ALWAYS articals on Asteroids on the same path of Earth and yet Nasa keep changing their spected dates of impact.

2) Lets say it IS true, would you want to be told or not and why?
Actually as i said before there are MANY dates given. A few months ago it was broadcasted on world news that were ment to be hit in 2021.

How can i learn survival skills on my own?

My boyfriend’s cockatiel flew away yesterday. What are its chances of survival or return?

We were taking fireworks outside to put in his car, and his stepdad was bringing more out when she slipped out the door. It was very windy and she tried to turn around to land somewhere near the house, but the wind just blew her farther away and I could see she was a long ways away before I lost sight. (Her dot was gone before it headed for trees, and it’s a fairly flat landscape with shorter trees.) We looked for a long time after she was gone, but it was no use, she’d flown too far. I just want to know what are the chances. I know they have bad homing skills, I know they aren’t good at surviving in the wild. Especially not with all the booms from fireworks, and I think it was supposed to storm last night sometime, and there are a lot of hawks around here, and it’s very very hot out. ((Texas.)) So just give me a blunt answer; is there any chance she’ll come back, and if not, what are her chances of surviving? She was a nice bird, even if she didn’t like me(jealousy), and I don’t like to think of her being killed. ((My boyfriend and his mom both take the stance that birds aren’t meant to have their wings clipped or be kept cooped up in a cage all the time, and she’s only in a cage at night or when they take her to her big outdoor cage. I like birds a lot, and I’m all for that stance except for the heartache of losing the bird. If I ever get one, I’m clipping its wings.))
