(Wilderness Survival)
Winter? Desert? Forest? Swamp? Mountains? Jungle? Deserted island in the ocean? What type of environment would your present personal skills and knowledge allow you to have the best chances of survival in?

Yeah, I used to be in the boyscouts and am kind of interested in doing something like that. Like a place that would teach you wilderness survival skills, and that kind of thing, but for adults? Not the army btw.
Not any governmental military thing.
i was lazy, i felt people who were into military might have an answer, and I guess i just wasn’t really thinking so much about it, but yeah it should be in a different section your right. Good idea with the camp counciler, i was thinking more along the lines of learning new skills possibly in a group environment that had to do with like wilderness survival, camping etc. not so much teaching

I’m looking for a book I read years ago. A boy gets into a fight with his father and decides to go on a plane with a man that works for his father to deliver a shipment to the cold wilderness. The plane crashes and there are two men that try to harm the boy. They are trappers or something similar. The boy meets Donovan and he becomes a type of mentor, teaching him survival skills and keeping him safe. In the end, Donovan doesn’t make it, but the boy makes it home. I know the details are dodgy, but I can’t remember much else.
And no, it isn’t Hatchet or My Side of the Mountain.
I’m looking for a guide that’s mostly like the SAS Survival Guide (Bonus points if it’s all about survival and the author doesn’t put any political bullshit in with it) but doesn’t assume rescue. It should give information on building long term shelter, long term food sources, long term water sources, etc. (“Long term” being the key words here).
Basically, I want a book that will show the basic skills necessary for surviving months in the wilderness with no hope of rescue or other help.
Hello . My name is Aaron . Im 18 years of age . I am looking into becoming a Primitive Survival Instructor . My skills are unique , and I have been practcing these skills for over 7 years now . Im proficient in making fires with the bow – drill and hand drill . Im a proffesional bowyer and sell my sinew – backed and rawhide backed self bows . I have taken two Deer with these weapons , using natural fiber cordage , handmade arrows , and flint knapped arrowheads . I have spent an entire month in the wilderness of Newport , New Hampshire with nothing more than a knife and my own clothing . I slept in handmade debris hut shelters in 23 degree weather , prooving the quality of my shelter constructing skills. Im also an excellent tracker and trapper using primitive traps . In a nut shell , I have superb skills in every degree of primitive living . I am an excellent teacher , and I am very mature for my age . These skills have interwoven themselves into my life and I have dedicated myself to doing this the rest of my days .
My question is are thier any ” non- phrophit ” organizations that teach these skills , with out the cost of money ? I want to settle down in an area with people like me and share these skills . I want to be able to teach without having to worry about costly classes . Im at borderline desperate in finding people like me , and finding a place to settle down , close to the earth , as I am very spiritual .
I would greatly appreciate any information pertaining to this , and I want to thank you for your time in reading this . You can contact me via phone by this number – 860 – 501 – 0932 . I havnt changed my phone in nearly 5 years so the voicemail may come off as different . You can also reach me on youtube.com , my user name being TatankaOhitika1 .
Thanks again , Aaron Luna
